I spent about $100 to get the following parts that I found at the local salvage yard during one of their 50% off days Pick your part.
- Passenger side front fender
- Front bumper
- Rear passenger side suspension rod (a new rod assembly is $150 total, I got this for $9!)
- Vacuum pump
- Rear plastic body molding
I had to strip the parts from salvaged MR2 in the yard on my own, which took some time, but it was well worth it. Also, this is probably the only way for me to get some replacement body parts for my 1986 MR2.
I will be using the existing transmission in the electric car, so I will clean it up after separating the gas engine from it.
Thanks to my friend Steve’s engine hoist, I propped up the engine/transmission assembly as show in the following pictures to make it easier to work on the assembly.






After a drought of about 7 months, we are finally getting rain! Good for our water reserves but not so good for solar power generation.
